Opotiki Rodeo Wins Tourism Award

Our Club recently received The Opotiki iSite Tourism Award for 2008 which was presented in Gisborne at the Eastland Tourism end of year function.

Attending the function were Opotiki Councillor Doug Leeder - Chair of the Tourism and Promotions Committee; Ms Sandie Dixon representing Opotiki

iSite; Mrs Sue Watson - President of the BOP Opotiki Rodeo Assn Inc; and Gavin Hustler a member of the Rodeo Committee.

Members of our association were overwhelmed in receiving this Award, which acknowledged all the hard work that is put into producing fun-filled entertainment - excitement of competition - and one of the best Rodeos in New Zealand. A lot of work goes into advertising and attracting visitors to the Opotiki district.

Opotiki has much to offer - from fishing, hunting, swimming, bushwalking, horse trekking, to a day at the Rodeo or the Mudslide or build sandcastles at the beach. Fun for all ages.
